QR CODE TO STL

Convert a QR code into an STL model

Build QR geometry from your content, inspect it in 3D and export an STL file after model preflight. The workflow is designed for makers who need more than a flat QR image.

The current generator runs in your browser. ScanSafe provides guidance, not a guarantee that every physical print will scan.

BUILT FOR REAL WORKFLOWS

Useful checks without pretending the browser can guarantee a print

ModuQR keeps the core workflow fast and transparent: create the QR, inspect the physical model, review technical checks and export without signing in.

Browser-first core

QR creation and model generation are designed to run in your browser. The core builder does not require a ModuQR cloud account.

No account required

The main generator works without registration, saved cloud projects or a subscription.

ScanSafe stays honest

Digital integrity, physical module sizing and print-oriented checks are useful guidance, not a promise that every fabricated QR will scan.

Exports get checked

STL and 3MF workflows use export preflight and component-level topology checks before the current model is generated.

Core generation is free. Monetization is designed around content and discovery areas, not inside the 3D builder.

What you can do

Convert a QR code into an STL model

01

STL export

Generate an STL after export preflight checks.

02

Physical sizing

Control overall size, base thickness and QR relief or engraving depth.

03

Topology visibility

Review component-level topology health before downloading.

How this workflow works
01

From QR matrix to printable triangles

ModuQR converts the QR matrix into physical module geometry instead of tracing a screenshot. The builder preserves the relationship between QR modules and the chosen physical size, then builds the base and Raised or Recessed features in millimeters.

02

Check the model before STL export

The export path runs preflight checks for usable meshes, dimensions, invalid coordinates, triangle counts and component topology. ScanSafe also evaluates the physical QR against the active nozzle and layer-height profile so you can spot a model that may be too dense at the current size.

03

Use the STL in your slicer

STL is widely supported across common 3D-printing workflows. ModuQR does not pretend to be a slicer: print time, filament usage, supports and machine-specific behavior remain decisions for your slicer and printer profile.

Frequently asked questions
Is the exported STL in millimeters?

The model is designed around millimeter dimensions in the builder. Your slicer should interpret the imported geometry at the dimensions shown by the tool.

Can I make a Recessed QR STL?

Yes. Choose Recessed in the Print step to create engraved QR geometry with a preserved material floor.

Does the STL export join every touching part into one boolean shell?

No. Current topology checks are per component mesh. Touching components are not claimed to be one boolean-unioned manifold shell.
